We undertake design work ranging from small scale concept plans to full construction drawings and specifications, master planning and feasibility studies for projects large and small. Our clients include local authorities, community groups, schools and nurseries, adventure playgrounds charities and public bodies such as Forestry Commission. Our schemes may be dedicated play spaces or equally important – playable spaces within the wider public realm.
With a strong interest in the dynamic presence and cultural history of a landscape (whether urban or rural), we are committed to celebrating a space in our design work. Our fascination with what truly engages children together with our play landscape approach, seeks to create an invitation to discover, create, construct and invent as well as places just “to be”. Our designs are informed by on-going observation of children playing in a wide variety of environments.
With many pressures affecting the delivery of children’s spaces from anxieties about risk to the practicalities of maintenance, we are committed to keeping thinking about children at the centre of the process and ensuring that clients are supported throughout the process, from consultation to delivery, to deliver their aims.
